Following last year’s successful meeting, the Scottish Pain Research Community (SPaRC), operating under the auspices of NRS Pain, is pleased to its Tenth Annual Scientific Meeting (SPaRC ASM 2020) which will take place on Friday 27th March 2020 at the West Park Conference Centre, Dundee.

Preference is giving to those submitting/ presenting abstracts. The SPaRC team is committed to keeping costs low and maintaining the high calibre of research and speakers at this annual meeting.

Call for abstracts

We are currently seeking abstracts representing the full range of pain-related research in Scotland, including basic, clinical and population science. This includes research that has been published recently, as well as current activity.

Please note that abstracts that have been previously presented elsewhere will be considered, as well as new work and work in progress.

This year we are asking presenters to put their research into a clinical context by including details of the (potential) patient benefit arising from the research.

Oral presentations
Sessions in the main programme will be presented orally. Each presenter is allocated a 10-minute session followed by question and answers.

Poster Presentations
Poster presentations will be displayed in the exhibition area throughout the conference and presented by the authors. This year we will continue with the successful “Datablitz” format, where poster presenters will have the opportunity to give a 1 minute summary of the key points, using 1 slide, at the start of the poster session.

Download the abstract submission form. Any questions and all abstracts should be emailed to and, with a deadline of Wednesday 15 January 2020.
