Update on health and social care research projects for educational purposes

Update on health and social care research projects for educational purposes

27th October 2020

A pause on health and social care research projects for educational purposes has been extended until September 2021

The decision is in line with national priorities for NHS/Health and Social Care to support COVID-19 studies and the restart of clinical trials and studies as well the continuing pressure of the COVID-19 pandemic. This decision has been taken by the Health Research Authority (HRA) in collaboration with partners in the devolved administrations.

Applications for individual undergraduate and master’s student research projects will not be reviewed until September 2021.

The HRA have published information about other ways in which students can gain experience of health and social care research.

The HRA and devolved administrations are committed to engaging our stakeholders as part of the development of ongoing guidelines for student research.
