Metabolic Research Register

Can you help us advance the treatment and care of people with metabolic or weight related health conditions?

We are asking members of the public to consider joining a register of people who have an interest in weight loss and metabolic research, and in the prevention of type 2 diabetes.

Many people feel that their body size is preventing them from doing activities they would like to do. It is not entirely under personal control. People who are higher weight generally have a genetic susceptibility.

Carrying excess bodyweight can cause other health problems too. In addition, an increased bodyweight is a risk factor for type 2 diabetes and may also have an impact on your heart health and blood vessels.

Joining the metabolic register will allow NHS teams to contact you about relevant research opportunities.

It is always your decision whether to take part in a research study or not and you’ll be provided with information to help you make that decision.

By joining the Metabolic Research Register, you are allowing a member of a local University or NHS research team to be able to contact you with further information about their research.

Withdrawing from the Metabolic Research Register is simple, and you can do so any time you choose without suffering any detriment. Withdrawal will not affect the care you receive in any way. If you have any questions, or decide you want to withdraw, please contact:
